I am raising money to fund the travel expenses entailed in photographing underrepresented same-sex families from states that are not traditionally perceived as gay-friendly.

I am trying to raise $15,000 to finish the project.

1. Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas

2. Alabama, Georgia, Florida

3. Montana, Idaho

4. Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Iowa

5. Washington, Oregon and California

It is imperative that these families are portrayed in the project. In order to show the diversity represented in our community.

Your donation will help give these families a voice.

In a country that does not yet fully recognize same-sex families legally or culturally, the visual record provided by States of Union serves as public documentation that these unions exist.

Politicians will always vote with their constituent’s opinions, because they don't want to loose their jobs - so real change comes from starting at the bottom and changing the constituents’ viewpoint.
